VINIFICATION NOTES: Louvau Vineyard was picked on September 24th, hand-sorted and destemmed then placed into a closed-top tank for a 22-day fermentation. The Louvau fruit was pressed on to petite sirah skins to add texture and tannin. The wine was barrel aged for 27 months in 89% French Oak and 11% American oak, 33% being new.

VINEYARD NOTES: John Louvau purchased this valley floor vineyard in the 1980’s, when he discovered a block of 90-year-old zinfandel vines under the property. These ancient vines, along with the rest of the zinfandel which was planted in the 1990, has developed deep roots as the vines dig deep to find the underground water table.

SENSORY NOTES: Dark ruby and expressive, the 2018 Louvau Vineyard zinfandel’s aromatics explode out of the glass with dark floral notes, blackberries and plums. This is a lush, full-bodied, hedonistic zinfandel chock full of juicy fruit, coffee and violets that will delight the taste buds now or over the next six years.

CELLAR RECOMMENDATION: Enjoy now through 2028.
