Variety: 100% Pinot Noir
Appelation: Sonoma Coast
Sensory Notes: This complex cool-climate wine is seductive and alluring with aromas of dark fruit, bright cherry, woodsy spice, cedar, bramble and forest floor. On the rich, mouthcoating palate, bold tannins and vibrant acidity add dimension and structure, underscoring luxurious blackberry and black cherry flavors that flow to a long, robust finish.
Winemaking Notes: Our Three Perch fruit is comprised of three renowned clones: Calera, 777 and Pommard, grown at an elevation of approximately 900 feet and dry farmed—a unique approach that adds nuance and complexity to the grapes. In 2017, the vineyard produced small berries and clusters, yielding one of the darkest and most concentrated wines of the vintage. The grapes were harvested by hand at 6 a.m. on October 2nd, and cold soaked for five to seven days, with one pump-over a day. The three clones were co-fermented using native yeast as 95% destemmed grapes, and 5% whole clusters. Once fermentation began, we switched to two punch-downs daily. The wine was aged for 11 months in 100% French oak barrels, 40% of which were new.
