2015 Sonoma County Petite Sirah

Sensory Notes: From its deep, inky-purple color to its luxurious aromas of huckleberry, purple flowers, sweet oak and dark fruit, this is a rich and mesmerizing wine. The brooding dark fruit is echoed on the plush palate, where it mingles with layers of tar, wood smoke and savory spice—all underscored by rich, velvety tannins.

Vinification Notes: The petite sirah grapes for this rich and alluring wine were sourced from Lily Hill Vineyard and Big River Ranch. Pumpovers were performed twice daily, and the fermentations were processed in two separate tanks. To ensure supple tannins, the wine was pressed just before dryness, which allows us to achieve a more elegant style of petite sirah, while maintaining the richness of the varietal. Aging occurred in French and American oak barrels. 20% of these barrels were new.
