Varietal: 100% Chardonnay
Appellation: Santa Lucia Highlands
Sensory Notes: On the nose, the Chardonnay showcases tantalizing aromas of zesty wet stoneminerality, Meyer lemon, pineapple, pear, yellow plum, flint and honeysuckle. The palate is bright andracy, with pure, focused flavors of peach, nectarine, citrus and earth underscored by a touch of richness from lees stirring. The long mouthwatering finish ends with a silky note of lemon meringue
Winemaking Notes: The 2015 vintage produced an enticingly fresh and vibrant expression of Chardonnay, with an equally lovely texture. We hand-picked our grapes at night to preserve their freshness and delicate notes. The fruit was then sorted by hand, whole-cluster pressed and cold settled for 24 hours. It was then fermented in 40% neutral oak and 60% stainless steel. Stainless steel maintains the crisper characteristics of this wine, while the neutral oak and stirring of the lees in barrel provide a softer mouthfeel and complexity. The Chardonnay did not go through malolactic fermentation, further preserving its freshness and green apple nuances.
