Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir
Appellation: Russian River Valley
Sensory Notes: This wine is lush and alluring with heady aromas of cherry, blackberry, bramble, cedar and forest floor, with hints of smoked meat, fig, and ripe plum. The dark cherry layers are echoed on the palate, where they are underscored by bright acidity, firm, integrated tannins, and hints of sasparilla and spice.
Vineyard Notes: Crafted as a selection of our favorite blocks and barrels of wine from some of the most exceptional vineyards in the Russian River Valley, our debut 2013 Boots Block is a blend of 50% Jenkins Vineyard, 22% Cummings Vineyard, 15% Bootlegger's Hill, and 13% Stephens Vineyard. Due to the low yields in 2013 these lots were noteworthy for their exceptional color and dark flavors.
Winemaking Notes: The grapes were harvested by hand at night, prior to a five day cold soak. During fermentation, the wines were given two punch downs a day before being barreled down and given extended aging in order to allow the tannins to fully integrate.
Enjoy now through 2023.
