Varietal: 100% Chardonnay
Appellation: Green Valley, Russian River Valley
Sensory Notes: Beautifully aromatic, the 2013 Chenoweth Ranch Chardonnay offers a bouquet of pineapple guava and meyer lemon with undertones of freshly cut hay. A big and expressive mouthfeel finishes with rich, viscous texture and plenty of minerality.
Vineyard Notes: Chenoweth Ranch vineyard lies deep in the cooler Green Valley region of the Russian River Valley. Surrounded by redwoods and perched at 750 feet above sea level, this vineyard lies above the dense fog line. When planted on cooler sites like the Chenoweth Ranch, the Hyde Chardonnay clone retains it's classic tropical components while being matched with minerality and acidity.
Winemaking Notes: Picked on September 9th in the early morning hours, the fruit was hand-sorted and whole-cluster pressed, then cold-settled in tank for 24 hours before going into barrel for the primary and secondary fermentations. Hand-stirring of the lees occurred daily through primary fermentation. Aging occurred for 11 months in barrel, 40% new French oak.
Enjoy now through 2022.
