Varietal: 100% Pinot Noir
Appellation: Sonoma Mountain
Sensory Notes: The 2012 Sonoma Mountain Pinor Noir was bright upon release, with wild strawberry aromas and rustic hints of mountain herbs and spice. It has evloved from the fresh strawberry characteristic to dried strawberries and dried herbs. It's still rich on the palate with jammy blackberry and very dark black plum flavors. It all is underscored by a round, juicy texture and anchored by an extended finish of vanilla and sweet mocha.
Vineyard Notes: This Pinot Noir is sourced from the renowned Van der Kamp vineyard in the small, but ideal, Pinot Noir-producing appellation of Sonoma Mountain. With this wine we seek to capture the essence of this unique appellation, as well as the character of the vineyard. The high elevation of Van der Kamp keeps temperatures cooler and ensures a small, highly concentrated crop of Pinot Noir fruit.
