Variety: 94% grenache, 6% syrah
Appellation: Alexander Valley
Sensory Notes: Beautiful notes of red licorice and strawberries evolve into a rounded, encapsulating mouthfeel. Bright fruit continues through the finish, matched with herbal undertones and a juicy finish.
Vineyard Notes: Our Big River Ranch is located in Alexander Valley, surrounded on three sides by the Russian River. Big River has a 2.6 acre block of grenache with three clones interspersed: Alban, Tablas Creek A and Tablas Creek C. Though often thought of as a heat-loving variety, grenache’s delicate aromatics are enhanced by the cooler mornings of Big River Ranch, which helps to extend the growing season, adding depth and complexity.
Cellar Recommendations: Enjoy this wine through 2027.
