2018 Two Patch Zinfandel

VINIFICATION NOTES: After an ideal growing season that yielded outstanding fruit with great color and flavor, the grapes were harvested by hand on September 17th at Lily Hill Estate and October 4th from Big River Ranch. The fruit was sorted, destemmed and placed into separate tanks. The wines received two pump-overs daily during fermentation and were left on skins for and average of 20 days. After fermentation, the wine was barreled-down into a combination of 85% French, 10% Hungarian and 5% American oak barrels for 27 months, with 8% new oak overall.

VINEYARD NOTES: The Two Patch zinfandel is the culmination of two vineyards, each bringing their strengths to this wine: Big River Ranch, located on the edge of the Russian River with its dark, brooding zinfandel fruit and Lily Hill which displays the elegance and finesse Dry Creek Valley is known for.

SENSORY NOTES: Barrel aged for an incredible 27 months, this wine showcases dark fruit aromas, chocolate and a hint of baking spice with an explosion of personality that ends with an incredibly plush, complex finish. Dark and brooding, this wine showcases the deeper side of zinfandel and will continue to evolve over the next five years.
