vinification notes: This incredible syrah was crushed and destemmed before fermenting on the skins for 14 days. The wine was pressed and barreled down in a combination of French and American oak barrels. Aging occurred in our wine cave for 14 months.

sensory notes: With lovely aromatics, a fine texture, ripe tannins and long, rich finish, this wine is both complex and compelling. It showcases elements of cocoa, apricot, boysenberry and savory spice, before concluding with a satisfying mocha and toasty oak finish.

vineyard notes: Big River Ranch is located on the boundary between the Alexander Valley and the Russian River Valley. The hillside location is fortunate to have the cool nights and foggy mornings typical of the Russian River Valley, while also warming up later in the day to provide the warmth for development of full-bodied flavors in the grapes.
