This complex mouth-coating wine is a result of grapes grown from century old vines on our hillside vineyard bordering the Russian River. The aroma jumps out of the glass with intense blackberry and black cherry fruit, chocolate, clove spice, and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is thick and rich with blackberry fruit and chocolate flavors, mixed with sweet overtones of cherry, clove, and black pepper. With its velvety texture and a long, complex finish, this wine should improve through 2009 in the bottle.
