Accolades

Wine and Spirits Magazine's February 2010 issue featured reviews for the Year's Best Zinfandel.  Bella Vineyards came out on top with a top-scoring 94 points for the 2007 Lily Hill Estate zinfandel!  W&S called the '07 Lily zin flavors "remarkably long" and said the syrah blended in with the wine brought out the "wild animal side of the wine."  They also noted the wine had a "ripe, almost peachy fruit" and "cooler, foresty tone, marked by scents of blueberry, raspberry and rose."  Yum!

The May 2009 issue of Connoisseurs' Guide to California Wine recently hit subscriber's mailboxes and the issue contained a number of top scoring Bella zinfandels!  Two of particular note are the 2007 Belle Canyon zinfandel (91 points, Two Puffs) and the 2007 Lily Hill Estate zinfandel (91 points, Two Puffs).  

Charles Olken of this venerable magazine called the 2007s full of "sheer fruity strength" and described the Lily Hill as having "plenty of mass and a fine sense of juice."  The Belle was characterized as "vital" and full of "undisguised leanings to dark chocolate".
