Our vineyards
Bella Vineyards farms some of the most distinct vineyards in Sonoma County; two in Dry Creek Valley and one in Alexander Valley on the edge of the Russian River. The mission of our winery is to make small lots of high quality wine from distinct parcels on these vineyards.
Big River Ranch, our family vineyard in Alexander Valley, is the remarkable home to vines planted in 1906. The naturally low crop levels produces intense flavors of blackberry, chocolate, and black pepper that are quite unique to the vineyard and consistent year after year.
Lily Hill Estate is our vineyard in the heart of the Dry Creek Valley and is also home to our winery. The 85-year-old vines at this vineyard provide the backbone to the estate zin. The fruit flavors exhibit the elegance, depth, and intense black fruit flavors that are hallmarks of old vine zinfandels from Dry Creek Valley.
Belle Canyon Vineyard is also in Dry Creek and is the source for fruit that produces a wonderfully delicate wine with amazing aromas and soft, rich red fruit. The old clones planted on this vineyard produce a zinfandel with complex flavors of raspberries, spice and coffee.
Maple Vineyard is one of the most acclaimed zinfandel producing properties in Sonoma County and we have been fortunate to receive some of this amazing fruit. Tom and Tina Maple have nurtured this gem of an old-vine vineyard by hand and the quality is evident in the finished product.
Two Patch, while not technically a "vineyard", is a blend of two small patches of vines from Big River Ranch and Todd Brothers Ranch, neighbors in the Alexander Valley. Together, they create a wine with an amazing velvet texture and rich complex flavors of black cherry, blueberry and cocoa bean.
